Hello everyone...good stuff lately...looking through articles on Pubmed I realize that I don't yet have the ability to interpret the results of studies and apply them to cycling or running as Juerg and the other coaches out there can...anyways...Juerg, you mentioned that you do 1-leg forwards, 1-leg backwards and even 1 leg and juggling (which you might be lying about, I'd like to see that)...my question is why...from what I figure, it's like a basketball player practicing his dribbling with both hands at the same time...does this create different types of neural patterns than just riding independents...if so at what level...are you trying to create a subconscious motor pattern with which your brain doesn't have to "think" about when spinning...ie. x muscle fires then y muscle fires then z muscle fires etc...will this increase our efficiency...have you looked at emg when doing 1-leg riding vs. 1 leg forward 1 leg backward...anyways...just some thoughts for now...
ciao
dan
