I'm interested because I test myself. And while I try to get a good reading immediately, I find that it takes me about 30 seconds to a minute to get everything set up. I usually test myself after hard runs and 'steady' runs and I have found that my lactate at 'steady' paace was much lower than expected. I guess that's a good thing.

I am also interested in pre-workout tests. Specifically, if they are an indicator of being recovered. Is there a method to gauge your recovery from a test prior to hard work? For example, you train hard on Tuesday, easy Wed, and want to go hard Thurs or Fri. Would a test on Thurs before the workout give you any information (provided you ran easy on Wed)?
